I hope everyone who attended our Husky Howl had a fabulous time. The gigantic inflatables looked awesome and I enjoyed seeing my students in their costumes.
This week will also be full of exciting events starting Monday with the Red Ribbon Week Celebration. It’s designed to raise awareness concerning the problems related to the use of tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs. The national theme this year is: “YOLO, BE DRUG-FREE.” Students will be given red ribbons and pins to wear every day and will receive educational activity sheets and bookmarks. Students may pledge to live a drug-free life by signing the pledge posters on campus and each classroom will decorate their door with a drug-free message. On Friday, October 24, students and staff will wear red clothing to school.
Congratulations to the seven students who were able to reach the A.R. goal of earning 80% or higher on their quiz. We had a great time at the park. Hope to have more students next time.
Also, this Thursday, students will be able to bring their favorite stuffed animal to class for earning 10 class huskies.

Good Evening Parents,
Hope everyone had a relaxing weekend and your children were able to rest after the field trip on Thursday to Smarty Plants. It was a very informative field trip and all the students learned something very interesting about living in a desert environment. We especially liked the Rap song the teacher sang. After the field trip all the students wrote thank you letters with beautiful illustrations. Thanks to all the selected chaperones who accompanied us that day.

I am so happy to return to school and see all my students again. I am sure they grew, rested, and enjoyed themselves during the fall break.
This Thursday, October 6th we will be going on our field trip to Smarty Plants. We will leave promptly at 9:00 and return at approx. 12:15. Be sure to pack your child a sack lunch, a drink, and comfortable closed shoes. Also, apply sunblock before school. Parents who were selected from raffle were notified and also will be riding the school bus. If you can still send in the 10.00 donation, it will be greatly appreciated.
Before the break, I was notified that our library day for this quarter has been changed to Thursdays. Therefore, students will be taking their A.R quiz on Wednesday. Please make sure your child packs their two books on Tuesday night. Only this week we will take the quiz on Tuesday.
